CAMERA IDEAS

Here I will be discussing what gear I use and will share my thought processes to get the results I am looking for.

My Fuji system

The Fuji XT2 is my go to travel camera only when I am flying. Due to weight restrictions, and bag sizes, I carefully choose my camera, lenses and possibly a flash system. So weight does matter... However I do use it a lot for people photography at home. I like the lenses, the colors and the fully manual options. Including the fact that this is a mirrorless camera, which makes it sharper. I am amazed sometimes at how sharp these images come out, sometimes I don't sharpen them in lightroom, as I find there is no need for it...

my wildlife system

For my wildlife photography I use my Canon 7D mark II and a 100mm to 400mm L lens for the reach. This past summer I started taking my camera on my kayak, which was a bit of a challenge for me. How to keep things waterproof, hmm... I decided on a waterproof bag from Mountain equipment co-op, which had a zipper all around, almost like having a lid.

my low light system

For low light, I use the Canon 6D full sized sensor camera. This is the same sensor as in the Mark III, but without all the bells and whistles, and it also weighs less. You can not be in a hurry, when using this camera. It is not built for speed! But the quality of photos coming out of this camera are incredible.
